Most Salamanca students are bused to and from school each day to increase safety. However, some students walk to school daily. Occasionally, students walk all or part of the way to or from school.

Parents are encouraged to review the following safety rules with their children:

• Avoid shortcuts through wooded or isolated areas.

• Walk with others. Never walk alone.

• Let your parents know where you are going and when you expect to return.

• Obey all traffic rules and police officers.

• Do not text message while walking or crossing the street going to and from school.

• Walk with confidence. Be aware of your surroundings.
