5 Hour Pre-licensing Course

A valid driver's permit is required to attend the course.

This is a $25 fee for the course.

There is a $10 charge for duplicate certificates (if you've already taken the course)

Saturday, January 11, 2025 - 8:00 a.m.

In order to take a road test for NYS driver's license, students must obtain a learner's permit and successfully complete a Five-Hour pre-licensing course, after which they would receive a MV-278 certificate. This is a mandatory requirement for all first-time drivers as well as for those with expired or revoked licenses.

All participants must pre-register using the link above. Students should arrive 5 - 10 minutes before the start of class with their valid driver learner's permit, and the class fee of $25. Payments must be in cash, check or money order form.

$10 charge for duplicate certificates.

Certificates are good for 1 year from the time of initial course date. Duplicate certificates can be reissued for a cost of $10. Participants would need to come to the Salamanca HS and bring their permit to have a duplicate certificate issued.
