In August 2012, the Business Department of Salamanca High School was named as one of the ten “Business and Marketing Education Department of the Year” award recipients for 2012 by the State Education Department and Business Teachers Association of New York State. This award was presented at the Association’s Annual Summer Conference at Buffalo State College.

The Salamanca High School Business Department teachers were recognized for their efforts in developing and providing a rigorous and relevant program of study for high school students in the area of business and marketing education. The business department staff was especially cited for the innovative courses, teaching strategies and creative learning experiences they provide which help prepare students for success in both postsecondary study and future employment in the global economy of the 21st century.

Salamanca’s Business Department has won this prestigious award the most out of any Region 10 Business Department in NYS, winning it seven times: 2012 NYS Region 10 Class B Business/Marketing Education Department of the Year; 2011 NYS Region 10 Business/Marketing Education Department of the Year; 2010 NYS Region 10 Business/Marketing Education Department of the Year; 2009 NYS Region 10 Business/Marketing Education Department of the Year; 2007 Co-Winner NYS Region 10 Business/Marketing Education Department of the Year; 2005 NYS Region 10 Business/Marketing Education Department of the Year; 2003 NYS Region 10 Business/Marketing Education Department of the Year.
