SCCSD Test to Stay Program
Over the past 2 weeks, the district has received new guidance from the CDC, NYS Dept of Health, and the Catt County Dept of Health. This new guidance results in several changes to the district COVID plans. Below is a summary of the changes that will go into effect on Monday, January 24. The documents attached provide additional details and should be referred to if there are initial questions.
• Close contact (see attached document called Close Contact)- the primary change is the requirement that a fully vaccinated individual must have received a booster if they are eligible in order to not quarantine.
• Positive COVID test (see attached Positive Case Flow Chart)- the primary change is the reduction from 10 days of quarantine to 5 days if there are no symptoms. If the individual has symptoms they must remain in isolation.
• Test to Stay (see attached document called Test-to-Stay Plan)- this is a new process for individuals that are asymptomatic who are considered a close contact where the contact occurs at school or a school event. Should the individual elect to, they can return to school immediately but must test 2 times within the first five days of the contact and remain symptom free.
