Friday, Seneca Intermediate students went to Seneca Lake to help with water research work on ecosystem sustainability.
Seneca Lake has high chlorides, salt, phosphorus, and blue-green algae caused by excessive nutrient flow.
Students gathered data on lake water pH, dissolved oxygen, and mico-species count.
College researchers hope to work with local and regional stakeholders to protect this natural resource so it can be healthy and safe for future generations to enjoy.
