This year, VFW Auxiliary Department of New York President Mary Makowky gave the patriotic book, Veterans Heroes in Our Neighborhood, to the VFW District Presidents to pass on to someone who deserves recognition for encouraging our country’s principles.
Sixth District president Tammy Cummings selected Prospect Elementary first grade teacher Kari Kloss to receive this honor.
Mrs. Kloss not only teaches about our country in her classroom but also completes various patriotic projects with the K-kids after school. We salute you, Mrs. Kloss!
