Ronald Smith
School Resource Officer – Seneca Intermediate
Ron was a graduate of Salamanca High School in 2012 and was #3 in his class. Ron was very active in clubs and activities while attending SHS. After high school Ron attended SUNY Brockport where he majored in Criminal Justice and minored in Forensic Science. Ron has worked for the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s office since July 2018 and has also worked for the Franklinville and Ellicottville Police Departments. Prior to getting the opportunity to be sponsored for the Sheriff’s Academy, Ron was working on his master’s degree in School Counseling. Ron states “I have long been interested in the prospect of working as a School Resource Office as an ability to blend my two desires in working in law enforcement and the ability to work with students”. A goal of Ron’s is to help continue to build the relationship between the community, the school and law enforcement. “My hope is to be a role model for the students and be an open door of communication for them”.
On behalf of the Salamanca City Central School District, we would like to welcome Ron back home as our newest School Resource Officer. Ron will be assigned and stationed at Seneca Intermediate School.
